Hello, I’m Fran, a Registered Psychotherapist based in Newmarket, Ontario, and the founder of Psychotherapy with Fran, a private online therapy practice.

Life is full of challenges as we balance career pressures, relationships, family dynamics, and try to stay true to ourselves. Like many of you, I’ve faced my own life transitions, from navigating divorce in my 40s to returning to school in my 50s, raising children as a single mom, and experiencing deep loss. These personal experiences, along with over a decade of professional work, have profoundly shaped how I support my clients today.

I specialize in helping clients work through anxiety, people-pleasing, relationship stress, childhood wounds and life transitions. My approach is grounded in the belief that you have the wisdom within, my own experiences and my formal training.  I believe that true strength comes from self-understanding, reflecting on our past, and integrating our values to shape our future. 

 I offer a safe,  down-to-earth, compassionate and practical space.  I provide psychoeducation to empower you to understand the root causes of your struggles and how to navigate them.

Hello, I’m Fran, a Registered Psychotherapist based in Newmarket, Ontario.

My life’s journey has been a rich tapestry of experiences, from navigating the challenges of divorce in my 40s to returning to college in my 50s for my degree.  I’ve raised children as a single mom, experienced the deep grief of losing both my parents, and, like many, faced the uncertainty and fears that came with the pandemic and today’s economic, climate, and peace crises. Over the last 33 years, I’ve relocated back and forth to Canada multiple times and understand the complexities of returning to work after being a stay-at-home mom.

These experiences have taught me that real strength doesn’t just come from surviving hard times, but from deeply understanding ourselves - learning to navigate anxiety, people-pleasing, comparison, and the unique pressures of modern life. This personal insight has shaped how I support others. I believe that to truly guide someone through their journey, we must hold space with genuine empathy, understanding their struggles and creating a safe place for healing.

From my roles as a stay-at-home mom to corporate executive and beyond, I’ve carried the lessons I’ve learned into my work. I’ve also worked in the non-profit sector, developing financial empowerment programs that continue to make a difference today. As a Licensed Therapist and Life Coach, I combine formal training with the wisdom gained through life’s many lessons.
